We value the image of God in all people, everywhere. We believe that we are created to live deeply and authentically with one another, carrying each other's burdens, sharing our possessions, praying for and confessing our sins to each other, suffering and celebrating together. It's in these honest, loving relationships that truth becomes a reality as God transforms us. The way of Jesus cannot be lived alone. At Georgia Tech, for some, community can be difficult to discover. Loneliness is a major issue. Therefore, we will strive to create the before mentioned environment through various avenues. We commit to pray, plan, and create opportunities, which will foster genuine relationship. In addition, we will continually reach out to all students to broaden the depth of our community. Overall we will strive to “break bread” as often as we can to emulate the work of the Spirit as found in Acts 2:41-46.

We believe that God wants to bring about redemption in every part of us. We embrace the salvation that Jesus offers as the only hope for the healing of our relationships with God, each other, ourselves, and creation. We believe that all of life is spiritual. All of our fears, failures, and brokenness can be restored and made whole through the healing power of Jesus Christ. We value the journey, because we want to be fully integrated people. Peoples whose mind, body, soul, emotions, and experiences are all offered together to God [Colossians 2.6-7]. We want to be fully mature disciples of Christ. At Georgia Tech, we understand that within the context of smaller groups this discipleship process can more readily happen. Therefore, we will create safe small group environments that allow freedom to grow into maturing believers. We commit to intentionally pray, train, and encourage one another in becoming reproducing disciples. We will continually look for fresh ideas and news way to build these small groups to best meet the needs of Georgia Tech students. Whole life discipleship is a lifestyle, a journey, a process.

We affirm the truths of scripture that claim Christ came for the world, that all people are created in the image of God, and one day all will bow to Jesus. We eagerly await this coming with joyful expectation. However, we understand that we play a role in this coming. Through Matthew 28.18-20 and Acts 1.8, we know our role and responsibility, believing in the truth that we are the arms and legs of Christ through His redemptive power. We will continually be in the process of being disciple makers, as well as, being witnesses of the risen Jesus. At Georgia Tech we recognize people all around us who have not heard the Truth, or have the Truth and have rejected it. So, in love, we will strive to engage the campus by intentionally befriending the lost, sharing life, and reflecting the love of Christ to them. We will be strategic in our prayer, training, planning, execution, and follow-up. We will constantly explore, question, and wrestle with new and creative ways to live out and communicate the teachings of Jesus. Success is defined by love, not numbers.

We believe that God is the God of all people. And we believe that Jesus came to implement a New Kingdom built upon truth, compassion, and love. So we understand that we often represent the presence of God’s kingdom on earth. Therefore, being led by the Spirit of God, we are passionate about relieving suffering and fighting injustice, joining the God of the oppressed in living out the transforming message of the resurrected Jesus. Jesus calls us to be agents of change and a compelling force for good in the world. We believe that we are at our best when we serve, sacrifice, and love, caring about the things God cares about. [Matthew 25.34-40] We are created to live for something larger than ourselves. At Georgia Tech we recognize God has placed us in the heart of Atlanta. We have chosen to open our eyes to a campus in pain, a city of hurt, and a world undone. We commit to pray, train, and educate those around us to the issues of social justice. Our response is to actively plan, prepare, and carry out various service projects as needs and opportunities arise. We will seek to partner with local churches in this service. We want to bring the love of Christ to all people through dying to our own needs and loving others with the life giving love through our service.

We see a great need to come together regularly and celebrate Jesus [Hebrews 10.25]. We understand that corporate worship has many different looks and feels throughout history, and we choose to embrace the value that we can worship Jesus in spirit and truth in many ways [John 4.21-24]. So we strive to create an eager environment to celebrate, teach, sing, pray, read, be silent, jump, or reflect on the restoration that we have through Jesus. We will embrace Truth first, and follow creatively after this. Because we see worship as a lifestyle, change is assumed, innovation is expected, and rebirth is welcomed. At Georgia Tech we understand that this happens most often in our weekly Velocity time. We coordinate with worship teams, tech support, drama, prayer, communicators, and other groups to provide the above environment each week. We commit to pray, plan, and continually implement as the Spirit leads. We also recognize special times of the year that we will be called upon to facilitate worship in other areas outside of Velocity.
