Welcome to Georgia Tech! We are so glad to have you on our campus. In the next 4+ years, you will do amazing things! As an on-campus student-led ministry, the Georgia Tech BCM (also known as Seven Forty BCM thanks to our address) is a place you can come to find hope, friendship and purpose through a relationship with Jesus Christ! Whether you're someone seeking positive and faithful friends or seeking to deepen your walk with God, we are a great place on campus to get to know!
As you may have heard, the first week of school is R.A.T.S. Week. There are all sorts of organizations to check out and we invite you to stop by some or all of our events found on the R.A.T.S. week page. If you are seeking to continue to strengthen your walk God, we believe it is crucial to start early in being active with campus ministries and/or a local church. Our ministry is an arm of the Baptist church on campus that allows you to be connected and encouraged by brothers and sisters in Christ. From several studies*, many students who were involved in high school youth ministries will not be actively attending a church by the time they graduate college. So, it is our hope that you will be involved with a Christian ministry/organization (whether ours or another of the many on Tech's campus) and/or church from the early stages of your college career onward. From my personal experience, the first two weeks of your freshman year are SO important in setting your direction for the next few years.
After R.A.T.S. Week is over, the Seven Forty BCM has a place for you in Freshmen City Groups, our discipleship and small-group Bible study created just for freshmen! In City Groups, we understand that the freshman experience is a unique experience. And we also understand that being in the heart of Atlanta is unique to Georgia Tech. We seek to join these two experiences. We build small co-ed groups of freshman led by upperclassmen, that seek to further understand what is means to be a disciple of Christ in the city and context they find themselves in. It involves community service, Bible Study, music, teachings, and other elements. We encourage you to sign up for City Groups ahead of time right here. Or you can wait and sign up during R.A.T.S. Week!
Freshmen year is exciting! Make the most of it by getting to know the people around you and getting involved in many great organizations on campus. Most of all, remember: "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31.
In Christ,
